My skin can be quite sensitive & many face masks are too intense for my dry, dehydrated skin as so many masks seem to be geared towards other skin needs than mine. This particular face mask comes in a few variations. There is the fresh version or the preserved one. I have the preserved version in the smallest tub because I knew I would be hard pressed to use it up before it expires khổng lồ begin with. This version retails for €11 which is not bad if you consider you get quite some uses out of this & most single use masks retail for about half the price of this one. I totally bought this on a whim, hoping it would be a nice change from my usual skincare routine. One of the reasons why I mostly don’t use face masks is pretty simple: I believe that a good, everyday skincare routine is much better for your skin than these once in a while pick me ups. So I choose consistency over a face mask that I can use once a week tops (else it becomes too much) và then I still have to lớn be quite careful. Of course I was sucked in by the claims: this promises to be soothing và refreshing at the same time. It contains several ingredients that should make your skin feel fresh while still nourished, yet it should also clean out your skin as there is some clay as well as some scrubbing particles in there.

How does the face mask perform?

So this is a bit of a weird one. It wasn’t as intense as I had expected, but it also didn’t perform the way I had hoped. The clay in this mask makes it quite drying. When you wash it off, you get an additional scrub due khổng lồ the particles that are in the mask.

In short, I liked the way this felt on the skin until I washed it off. The peppermint not only smells nice, but indeed feels very refreshing. The honey, which looks a bit oily in the tub, makes this feel more nourishing than most clay based face masks I have tried. But then you wash it off and it feels as if you are scrubbing off sand paper, which my sensitive skin did not like at all. I was left with skin that felt raw and it looked very red after.

What are the ingredients like?

Maybe I should have paid better attention when buying this và had a closer look at the ingredient list. Still, with many skincare products I never know what it might vị on my skin unless I try it, so I took the gamble và in this case it didn’t pay off. The ingredient list is as follows:

Bentone gel, Kaolin, Honey, Talc, Ground Organic Aduki Beans, Glycerine, Evening Primrose Seeds, Peppermint Oil, Tagetes Oil, Vanilla Absolute, *Limonene, Perfume, Chlorophyllin, Methylparaben

What’s strange is that the Dutch ingredient các mục first lists honey, so I can’t be sure that the formulation of this hàng hóa is the same wherever you buy this.

My final thoughts

I was hoping this would be a great product but alas! The Lush Mask of Magnaminty wasn’t great for my sensitive skin. It sounded good enough on paper, but in the over it didn’t work well with my skin’s makeup. With Lush I have found that I love their haircare stuff, but many of their other products are just too strongly fragranced & not the best if you have sensitive skin. I keep trying things, hoping there is something I might like, but often the packaging isn’t easy to lớn use, the product isn’t great và then the products also expire super quickly to lớn boot. Maybe I should just give up on Lush skincare products altogether và stick to lớn what I know my skin loves.

Would I recommend Lush Mask of Magnaminty?

I wouldn’t say don’t go out & buy this. I think this face mask is a good one if you want that once in a while pick me up và if your skin isn’t too sensitive. I am not enough of an expert khổng lồ know anything about the ingredients và be able to determine whether they vì chưng anything for your skin or not. So I can only speak from my experience which just wasn’t great.
